"Rhose" Friendship Basket
Each person will make one block ~~ a pieced basket or an English Paper Pieced block. The 3.75 inch finished red basket with a light background is machine pieced. All fabric has been provided and prepared with sizing. Also provided is fusible interfacing plus Stitch Witchery for the handle application. One may use their favorite applique technique. If using needleturn, add seam allowance. Or The 3.75-inch hand stitched applique using English Paper Piecing. The petals to this flower are RED fabric “rhoses” and the center is a creamy, white-ish, blossom fabric, both for fussy cutting* petals and flower center. I would like any scraps back to make a thank you for the “friends.” Each block kit is ready for pick-up from Friendship Block Chair Jeannie Parent at a guild meeting. Thank you so very much, Rhonda Denny
* What is fussy cutting? The first time I heard these words, “fussy cutting” I said out loud, “I have a great attitude! I wasn’t fussy at all.” Fussy cutting is taking a specific image from a given fabric, cutting the desired motif out, and adding it to your block creation. The “fussy” in this case is the red “rhose” petals and white-ish “rhose” blossom.
