Jonathan Shannon is an award winning quiltmaker and the first man to win Best of Show at the American Quilt Society show in Paducah, Kentucky, in 1993, for his quilt Air Show. He went on to make another well known quilt, Amigos Muertos, showing dancing skeletons to commemorate artists who had died from AIDS and other diseases.
