Treasurer’s Report: Linda Hooper gave the treasurer’s report.
Announcements: Congratulations to Vicki David who won second place at Paducah in the “first time participant” category.
A volunteer is needed to coordinate quilts for wounded military members when they arrive at Travis Air Force Base. Contact Lavella Cassinelli.
The Moonlighter’s Quilt Show will be held June 6 and 7 at the Veteran’s Building in Santa Rosa. Hospitality still needs volunteers. Contact Vicki David if you’d like to volunteer or if you need to verify your volunteer schedule.
Janice Hartzog, the winner of the Kaleidoscope opportunity quilt, eagerly accepted the quilt.
New Business: Linda Hooper explained that Hospitality often misses the meeting or guest speaker because they’re preparing food. In order to allow Hospitality to enjoy the meeting, members are asked to bring cold dishes and desserts (pre-cut if possible) that will take little time to prepare. Hospitality will begin preparations after show and tell and lunch will be served approximately 15 minutes after the close of the meeting. Members are reminded that the pot luck is a supplement to your brown bag lunch.
Committee Reports:
Program and Workshops- Genie Becker and Janice Rodgers: Judy Sisneros’ April workshop was well received. The June and July workshops both require special rulers which you can purchase at the workshop or borrow from a friend. Supply lists for workshops through July are in the notebook by the storyboard. Supply lists will also be emailed to participants a couple of weeks prior to each workshop.
Fair Liaison – Pam McVey: Exhibitor books for the fair are available through Pam. Paper entry forms are due June 5 and entries on-line are due June 19.
Sew-A-Row – Joanie Bellinghausen: A few Sew-A-Rows still need sewers.
Block of the Month – Rhonda Denny, Linda Ziemer and Barbara Cortelyou: The apartment building block for “Create a Village” was introduced.
Community Projects – Lavella Cassinelli: To date, 636 quilts have been distributed.
Opportunity Quilt – Glenda Ross and Judith Clarke: Tickets for this year’s Opportunity Quilt “Family Ties” will be available at the meeting on May 21.
Librarian – Sharon Fry: Sharon introduced a variety of new books, CDs and DVDs.
Show and Tell was held along with the Fifty-Fifty and Name Tag drawings.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:07 AM and the Quiltathon began.
Respectfully Submitted,
Cathy Rapp, Recording Secretary
